Professional Experience

Comcast Corporation, Optek Division

2019 - Present
Denver, Colorado

The “operations tech" branch of Comcast, building technology that helps keep the network running strong.

Using Swift, I work on the Xfinity Meter project, building software and tools that hundreds of thousands of technicians depend on every day to test and diagnose issues with Comcast’s cabling infrastructure, both legacy copper and next-gen fiber optic.

  • Refactoring experience: Identified pain points and critical issues in the app, and spearheaded major refactors to clear out legacy code, instituting new app architecture and best practices.
  • Team support: Re-architected complex systems and created tailor-made support libraries to streamline development processes and ease pain points in the dev environment, greatly boosting developer productivity and satisfaction.
  • Code Robustness: Increased reliability in the codebase by implementing unit testing in the support libraries and migrating the host apps to use those libraries, thus benefitting from code deduplication and unit testing.
  • Data processing experience: Using both HTTP/REST APIs and WebSockets, display streams of data from cable meter devices to iOS devices, where my code parses and graphs that information.

Owlet

2018
Lehi, Utah

A studio specializing in creating devices and apps that prevent SIDS, credited with saving hundreds of lives.

Using Swift, I developed the parts of the Owlet Care app that support the Owlet Cam, a smart baby monitor. Tight integration with the rest of the team’s code was key in this project’s success.

  • IoT experience: Connected to (and communicated with) cameras running an embedded Linux distro, to stream live video as well as past recordings.

Branding Brand

2016-2017
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

A studio specializing in creating applications for e-commerce and mobile shopping experiences.

I worked on the iOS team, where I wrote, debugged, and performed QA testing on several apps for well-known retail brands like Burberry, Arc’teryx,Ace Hardware, Party City, and others.

  • IoT experience: Connected to (and communicated with) cameras running an embedded Linux distro, to stream live video as well as past recordings.

YinzCam

2014-2016
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

A studio specializing in creating applications for professional sports teams and sport venues.

Using Objective-C, I worked on the iOS team, where I wrote, debugged, and occasionally performed QA testing on YinzCam's fleet of 100+ official apps for sports teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA, NRL, and more.

  • Led the development effort to migrate the Objective-C codebase to Swift.
  • Integrated several third-party SDKs, frameworks, and libraries into YinzCam’s main code base.
  • Media Streaming experience: Streamed media from remote servers, both real-time broadcasting and on-demand playback.
